The euro weakened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Tuesday.

The euro fell to an 8-day low of 1.0782 against the U.S. dollar, from yesterday's closing value of 1.0831.

Moving away from an early high of 1.4180 against the Australian dollar, the euro slipped to 1.4128.

The euro edged down to 1.4411 against the NZ dollar and 129.61 against the yen, from an early 5-day high of 1.4458 and a 4-day high of 130.25, respectively.

Against the pound, the Swiss franc and the Canadian dollar, the euro edged down to 0.7299, 1.0456 and 1.3700 from yesterday's closing quotes of 0.7312, 1.0476 and 1.3747, respectively.

If the euro extends its downtrend, it is likely to find support around 1.04 against the greenback, 0.71 against the pound, 1.03 against the Swiss franc, 1.34 against the loonie, 1.38 against the aussie, 1.41 against the kiwi and 127.50 against the yen.
