Alstom
attains score of "A-" in CDP 2018
climate change questionnaire
22 January
2019 - Alstom has improved its score from "B" to "A-" in the
CDP climate change questionnaire. Earlier today, the company was
also named one of the "100 Most Sustainable Companies in the World"
by Corporate Knights. These distinctions demonstrate Alstom's
commitment to sustainable mobility and underline the company's
policy and strategic structure aiming to reduce negative impacts in
terms of climate change.
The CDP (formerly known as the
Carbon Disclosure Project) manages the global disclosure system
that enables businesses, cities, states and regions to measure and
manage their environmental impacts. The organisation awards grades
ranging from "A" to "D-", with "A" and "A-" ratings representing
about 5% of the companies evaluated. This rating is established
relative to peer companies from the industrial, electrical
equipment and machinery sectors.
Corporate Knights Inc. brings
together Corporate Knights, the corporate social responsibility
magazine, and a research division that classifies and evaluates
financial products based on their performance in corporate social
responsibility and sustainability. The annual "Global 100" ranking
of the 100 most sustainable companies in the world, initiated by
Corporate Knights in 2005, is announced every year alongside the
World Economic Forum in Davos.
In September, Alstom was selected
for the eighth consecutive year in the Dow Jones Sustainability
Index (DJSI), World and Europe, which recognises its leading
position in the field of sustainable development.
