The U.K. Competition and Markets Authority said Monday that it won't refer APi Group Corp.'s planned $3.1 billion acquisition of Chubb Ltd. for further investigation.

The U.K. regulator first said it will probe the deal on Oct. 18, and has now said it won't refer the acquisition to a phase 2 investigation.

APi--a provider of safety, specialty and industrial services--said on July 27 that it had agreed to buy Carrier Global Corp.'s Chubb Fire & Security business.
