Airbus SE (AIR.FR) has signed a contract with satellite operator Eutelsat Communications (ETL.FR) for two communication satellites, the U.K. government said Monday.

The U.K. government didn't put a specific value on the contract but said it was worth hundreds of million of pounds.

European plane maker Airbus will assemble components and major parts for the satellites at its U.K. sites in Portsmouth and Stevenage, with final assembly to be completed in Toulouse, France.
