Airbus SE said late Wednesday that it signed a contract for 38 new Eurofighter aircraft to be delivered to the German Air Force.

The European plane maker will deliver 30 single-seater and eight twin-seater Eurofighters.

The order will secure production until 2030. The company also expects other countries to make procurement decisions soon.

"In addition to an expected Eurofighter order from Spain to replace its legacy F-18s, procurement decisions in Switzerland and Finland are imminent in 2021," it said.
