Alstom SA (ALO.FR) said Friday that it has received a 100 million euro ($112.4 million) order to supply trains to the Paris metro.

Ile-de-France Mobilites and the Societe du Grand Paris, the operators of public transport in the French capital, have ordered 23 trains for lines 16 and 17 of the Grand Paris Express, Alstom said.

Grand Paris Express, one of Europe's largest transport projects, is a multi-billion euro plan to revitalize Paris's creaking transit infrastructure.

The order is an extension of an earlier contract signed in September, the French train maker said, adding that first trains should enter circulation by 2024
