France's Alstom SA (ALO.FR) said Wednesday that it received an
order to supply new trains to French state railway operator SNCF
Mobilites.
The train maker said it will supply 12 Avelia Euroduplex trains,
for a total amount of 335 millions euros ($373.41 million), that
will be put into service from 2021 onward.
The new order comes after SNCF Mobilites previously commissioned
55 trains from Alstom that are currently being delivered, Alstom
said.
"The production of these Avelia Euroduplex trains will represent
employment for 400 people in La Rochelle and 120 people in
Belfort," Alstom's senior vice president for France, Jean-Baptiste
Eymeoud, said.
