Capgemini SE (CAP.FR) said Wednesday that it was awarded a six-year contract worth more than 1 billion euros ($1.1 billion) by Germany's Bayer AG (BAYN.XE).

Under the terms of the agreement, the French technology consultancy will help Bayer in its digitalization efforts and in its cloud-computing transformation. The two companies will cooperate in the fields of enterprise resource planning, analytics, automation and service integration, Capgemini said.

The company added that the collaboration is due to start at the beginning of next year.
