Credit Agricole SA (ACA.FR) said Wednesday that its subsidiary Credit Agricole Payment Services and Wirecard AG (WDI.XE) have signed a digital-payment partnership agreement.

The companies will provide new e-commerce payment acceptance and acquiring services that will be available in France and other European countries at the start of next year, the French bank said.

"This partnership will also support the international development of large customers by providing a centralized acceptance platform and acquisition processing capabilities in Europe," Credit Agricole said.

The two entities had entered negotiations in December 2017.
