DuPont de Nemours Inc. (DD) on Monday said it agreed to buy the ultrafiltration membrane business of Germany's BASF SE's (BAS.XE) for an undisclosed amount.

The Wilmington, Del., company said the deal expands its portfolio of water purification and separation technologies to include ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis and ion exchange resins.

DuPont said it expects to complete the acquisition, which includes BASF's inge GmbH unit, along with the business's workforce and its headquarters and production site in Greifenberg, Germany, by the end of the year.
