Electricite de France SA (EDF.FR) said Wednesday that its subsidiary EDF Renewables is part of a consortium that has won a bid for Morocco's Noor Midelt I solar project.

The consortium, which includes Masdar and Green of Africa, was selected by the Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy and is expected to start construction on the project in the last quarter of 2019, with the first energy delivery to the grid set for 2022.

The consortium said it will develop the Noor Midelt I with an installed capacity of 800 megawatts of hybrid concentrated solar power and a photovoltaic power plant.
