Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) reported a weekend shutdown of a gas compressor linked to a gasoline-making Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit at its refinery in Baytown, Texas.

"Unplanned shutdown of Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit 2 wet gas compressor resulted in safe utilization of the flare system," the refinery said in a statement to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. "The event has ended. There is minimal impact to production. We expect to meet our contractual commitments."

It said the incident also led to above-normal gas emissions Sunday that lasted more than five hours, and said the gas compressor has returned to service.

The 561,000 barrel-a-day Baytown refinery is located 25 miles east of Houston.
