--General Electric Co. (GE) was able to book more first-quarter orders for new gas-fired power plants than rivals Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems and Siemens AG (SIEGY), Reuters reports Tuesday.

--GE booked six orders for its HA-class turbines, while Mitsubishi Hitachi booked five orders and Siemens got four, the report said.

--Gas turbine demand has fallen as more power is generated by wind, solar and other renewable methods, the report said.
