ING Groep NV said Friday that it is appointing Marnix van Stiphout as chief operations officer and chief transformation officer.

The Dutch lender said Mr. Van Stiphout will take up his new role on Sept. 1, replacing Roel Louwhoff.

Mr. Van Stiphout, who joined ING in 1998, will also be a member of the company's management board banking.
