L'Oreal SA said Wednesday that it resolved to change the geographical scope of some of its zones based on consumer behavior and market maturity.

The French cosmetics and consumer-products company said the North Asia zone will now include Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea. It will be led by Fabrice Megarbane, chief executive officer of L'Oreal China and member of the executive committee.

The company will also create a new zone called SAPMENA, which will include the South Asia Pacific, the Middle East and North Africa. The zone will be led by Vismay Sharma, who will join the executive committee.

A new Sub-Saharan Africa zone will be headed by Burkhard Pieroth, general manager for emerging markets.

L'Oreal has also appointed Frederic Roze, currently president of the Americas, to the newly created role of chief global growth officer, to which all zones will report.

The appointments will take effect starting from Jan. 1, 2021.
