LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (MC.FR) said Friday that the new luxury fashion label it is developing with Rihanna, the famous pop star, will launch this spring.

The French luxury-goods titan said the brand will be named Fenty, after the singer's last name.

Rihanna has in the past worked with LVMH on a successful beauty brand, Fenty Beauty, now one of the cosmetics industry's fastest-growing brands.

"Everybody knows Rihanna as a wonderful singer, but through our partnership at Fenty Beauty, I discovered a true entrepreneur, a real CEO and a terrific leader," said LVMH Chief Executive Bernard Arnault.
