GBPJPY Pound Sterling vs Japanese Yen

As expected, the Bank of England kept its key rate at 0.50 percent and the asset purchase plan unchanged at GBP 435 billion.

The pound strengthened against its major counterparts after the decision.

The pound was trading at 150.02 against the yen, 1.3448 against the franc, 0.8685 against the euro and 1.4195 against the greenback around 8:01 am ET.
