French auto maker Renault SA (RNO.FR) has signed a global agreement on work-life quality with labor representatives, the company said Tuesday.

"I'm proud that Renault is signing such an innovative agreement, ensuring that our teams around the world will work in a safer, more attractive environment that respects the balance between professional and personal life," Chief Executive Thierry Bollore said.

The agreement allows unions globally to deal with changes, such as digitalization and new forms of transportation, in a negotiated manner, said Valter Sanches, Secretary General of IndustriALL Global Union. "In particular, it provides for the development of the necessary skills for each employee, thus ensuring that today's workers are still employed tomorrow."
