UK Antitrust Authorities to Investigate Danone-Harrogate Water Merger

The U.K.'s antitrust authority has launched a merger inquiry
into Danone SA's acquisition of Harrogate Water Brands Ltd., it
said Monday.
The Competition and Markets Authority, or CMA, said it is
considering whether the transaction could result in reduced
competition in any markets in the U.K.
The CMA set a deadline of July 6 for reaching its phase 1
decision.
The French food giant in February signed an agreement to take a
majority stake in the U.K. bottled-water company.
