--Volkswagen AG and Broadcom Inc. have reached a deal to end a patent lawsuit between the two companies, Reuters reports Wednesday, citing "a source close to Volkswagen."

--Broadcom filed a claim against Volkswagen last month in Germany covering 18 of the semiconductor maker's patents.

--The two companies reached an out-of-court settlement, and a hearing on the matter scheduled for the end of this week has been cancelled, the report said, adding Volkswagen declined to comment and Broadcom didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
