Eni Begins Production at Two Gas Fields in Algeria

Eni SpA said it has started production at two gas fields related
to a contract with Sonatrach in Algeria's basin of Berkine
South.
The Italian oil-and-gas major said Berkine South, which it
operates with Algeria's state-owned Sonatrach, has a production
capacity of 1 million standard cubic meters of gas per day. The
company said it expects to increase capacity to around 2 million
cubic meters of gas per day by the end of the year.
New volumes will help satisfy the demands of the European
market, Eni said.
