Candy Digital, who carries a partnership with Major League Baseball, is working on dynamic NFTs according to reports today, kicking off with a series titled the ‘MLB ICON Leadoff.’ It could lead to the early iterations of fantasy sports intertwining with NFTs (though indirectly here, as fantasy sports have not been mentioned with this application), as Candy Digital will integrate player performances from each game. It’s a major development for taking sports NFTs to the next level. Visa and Mastercard are two powerhouse financial players, and while Visa has certainly made a splash around NFTs, such as buying a CryptoPunk last year, Mastercard has had most of it’s activity occur behind the scenes. Today, reports emerged that Mastercard for over a dozen new trademark applications around NFT and metaverse engagement. The company has onboarded hundreds of new employees this year to advise banks and merchants on the use of NFTs and related blockchain applications.
