Dassault Aviation, Airbus to Supply UAE With Military Aircraft in $19 Billion Deal -- Update

Dassault Aviation SA said Friday that it will supply the United
Arab Emirates with 80 Rafale F4 fighter jets as part of wider deal
with the French aerospace industry worth more than 17 billion euros
($19.21 billion).
At 1102GMT, shares in the French aircraft manufacturer of
military and business jets were up 7.3%.
The Emirates Air Force will be the first to use the Rafale F4
fighter jet outside France, the company said. This contract is the
"largest ever obtained by the French combat aeronautics industry,"
Chief Executive Officer Eric Trappier said.
The United Arab Emirates is also buying 12 Caracal military
helicopters manufactured by Airbus SE, French President Emmanuel
Macron's office said. The deal, including the contracts for the
jets and helicopters and associated elements, is worth more than
EUR17 billion, it said.
Both deals were signed during President Macron's visit to the
Gulf this week.
