Valneva Reaches Settlement With UK Government Over Terminated Covid-19 Shot Contract

Valneva SE said Wednesday that it has reached a settlement with
the U.K. government related to the termination of a contract for
the supply of its Covid-19 vaccine.
The French pharmaceutical company had received a termination
notice from the U.K. government in September 2021. It said that the
settlement resolves obligations between the two parties in the wake
of the contract's end.
Besides the U.K., Valneva was also planning to supply vaccine
doses throughout the European Union, and had received acceptance of
its marketing authorization application to the EU in May. The
company recently said, however, that the number of requested shots
to be sent to European Union member states might be too low to keep
a vaccine development program running.
