UK Gilts Boosted By Signs of Moderation in Firms' Inflation Expectations

1040 GMT - U.K. gilts rally, pushing yields lower, and Daiwa Capital says they were given a further boost after the Bank of England Decision Makers Panel data reported a moderation in firms' inflation expectations on Thursday. "Results from the November BOE Decision Maker Panel survey hinted at a modest improvement in firms' inflation expectations since the MPC met at the start of November," which caused gains in gilts, say analysts Chris Scicluna and Emily Nicol in a note. U.K. 2-year gilt yields are down by roughly 90 basis points since Thursday's open to last trade at 3.205%. Ten-year gilt yields are down by around 4 basis points on the day at 3.073% according to Tradeweb. (miriam.mukuru@wsj.com)
