Investors also eyed the U.S. central bank decision on interest rates later this week. Ocado led the fallers, with shares were down 5.3%, followed by Rolls-Royce and BT Group, down 3.1% and 2.6%, respectively.

The FTSE 250 chemical supplier's 2023 will be about strategic execution, particularly on GBP150 million-GBP200 million in cash savings by the end of the year, they add.
