Award-Winning Seasonal Beer Complements Warm Weather for a Limited
Time ST. LOUIS, Feb. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Anheuser-Busch's
award-winning springtime brew, Spring Heat Spiced Wheat, returns
for a second time to tantalize the palates of beer lovers seeking a
refreshing beverage. The subtle, citrus flavors in Spring Heat
Spiced Wheat harmonize perfectly with the mood and climate of the
spring season. (Photo:

Belgian-style wheat ales, also known as White (Wit) beers, Spring
Heat Spiced Wheat has the unique characteristics of citrus and
spice notes, which result from adding orange, lemon and lime peels
and coriander to the brewkettle. The golden-tinged brew is
unfiltered, giving it a naturally cloudy appearance. Spring Heat
Spiced Wheat is brewed with barley and wheat malts, and a blend of
classically aromatic Cascade and Willamette hops and imported
Hallertau hops. Introduced last spring for a limited time, Spring
Heat Spiced Wheat was awarded the gold medal in the Belgian Wit
(White) category at the 2006 North American Brewers Association
Beer Awards. This unfiltered Belgian-style wheat ale will be
available again on draught in local bars and pubs, and for the
first time this year will also be available in 12- and 22-ounce
bottles at grocery and convenience stores. "Belgian-style wits are
crisp and refreshing with a slightly citrus taste, making them the
perfect beverage for the warmer spring months," said Florian
Kuplent, brewmaster, Anheuser-Busch, Inc. "Beer lovers will really
be able to appreciate the beer's naturally cloudy appearance when
they pour Spring Heat in a tall, wide-mouthed glass. That will also
help funnel the distinct citrus aroma straight to the nose." Wheat
beers are a tasteful complement to both casual and fine dining
occasions, and Spring Heat Spiced Wheat pairs especially well with
fresh salads, chicken dishes and Asian cuisine. Brewed at
Anheuser-Busch's Fort Collins, Colo., brewery, Spring Heat Spiced
Wheat contains 5.2 percent alcohol by volume. It is the third in a
series of specialty seasonal offerings, which also includes Jack's
Pumpkin Spice Ale, Winter's Bourbon Cask Ale and Beach Bum Blonde
Ale. http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20070227/CGTU010
