     Standard Chartered PLC ("SC") announces that today it purchased the following 
    number of its ordinary shares of US$0.50 each from Goldman Sachs International, 
    pursuant to the share buy-back programme previously detailed in the announcement 
                         of 17 February 2023 (the "Programme").

    Lowest price paid per share:                     647.40 pence 
 
    Highest price paid per share:                    661.60 pence

             Following the cancellation of the purchased shares, SC will have 2,841,455,444 
                     ordinary shares in issue. Therefore, the total number of voting rights 
                                                                 in SC will be 710,363,861. 
 
 
               Any share purchases pursuant to the Programme will be effected in accordance 
              with certain pre-set parameters and limits, and in accordance with applicable 
                     law and regulation as described in more detail in SC's announcement of 
                                                                          17 February 2023.

                   incorporated into UK domestic law by the European Union (Withdrawal) Act
