Oracle Expects Antitrust OK From China, Russia On Sun Deal
21 Janvier 2010 - 1:08PM
Dow Jones News
U.S. software firm Oracle Corp. (ORCL) Thursday said it expects
Chinese and Russian antitrust authorities to clear its pending
acquisition of Sun Microsystems Inc. (JAVA) unconditionally,
following the European Commission's approval.
The company said it intends to close the deal shortly.
Earlier Thursday, the European Commission unconditionally
cleared Oracle to take over Sun, after a drawn-out antitrust
investigation on worries that Oracle might seek to quash Sun's free
database offering, MySQL, to protect its own much pricier
franchise.
