Mystery solved as Simenon investigates film options for Chorion

Brand creation and management business Chorion PLC (LSE: COR) today announced
the appointment of John Simenon as a consultant responsible for filmed
production marketing and promotion.

M. Simenon, the son of the international best-selling author Georges Simenon,
will promote and market the television and film rights for Chorion's roster of
crime writers including Georges Simenon, Agatha Christie, Margery Allingham and
Edmund Crispin as well as Academy Award-winning screenwriter and playwright
Robert Bolt.

He will identify potential licensees and partners for film and television
productions in non-English language markets.

M. Simenon brings to Chorion more than 20 years' experience in the film and
television sector in the United States and Europe.

He began his career in distribution and marketing in the 1970s, working with
such companies as United Artists, Gaumont and 20th Century Fox International
before setting up as a Paris-based independent producer.

Subsequently he headed up the North America operations of Le Studio Canal +
before returning to Switzerland to manage the literary estate of his father,
resulting in the creation of Georges Simenon Limited, a Chorion company, which
now owns and manages the rights to the late author's literary works. M. Simenon
also sits on the board of George Simenon Limited.

Commenting on M. Simenon's appointment, Nicholas James, Chorion's Chief
Executive said:

"Since the company's purchase of the George Simenon's copyrights in 2001, John
Simenon has been invaluable in helping Chorion to enhance the value of his
father's works and to re-establish them as major publishing properties. We are
delighted to be working more closely with him in his area of expertise: film and
television. John's resume speaks for itself; his widespread experience in the
entertainment industry in the US and Europe provides an opportunity for us to
broaden the appeal of our full roster of adult brands."

John Simenon said:

"I have worked closely with Chorion for several years and value the impressive
management skills and entrepreneurial flair they have brought to reinvigorating
major literary brands. But the market for filmed adaptations can certainly be
developed further, particularly throughout the non-English speaking world. I
look forward to increasing the awareness of these extraordinary writers and
bring their stories to new audiences."
