Pioneering Technology Corporation (TSX-V:PTE; OTCBB:PTEFF), (“Pioneering”), North America’s leader in cooking fire prevention technologies and products announces today that SmartBurner, the new consumer version of its award winning Safe-T-element cooking system, is now available to the general public.

The SmartBurner, which can be self-installed in seconds, is in high demand and now available to the general public. It is available for purchase across Canada at various retail outlets and starting next week can be purchased in both Canada and the U.S. online by visiting www.pioneeringtech.com or www.smartburnerisbetter.com.

SmartBurner not only helps prevent cooking fires, but also helps reduce energy consumption, improves cooking performance and dramatically enhances the aesthetics of electric coil stoves. The Company’s first production run is already sold out and production is currently being ramped up to keep up with demand.

The potential customer base for SmartBurner is significant with stovetop cooking fires being the number one cause of household fires in North America (44% of all household fires according to the National Fire Protection Association – up from 20% in 1980). Unattended cooking on electric coiled stovetops is by far the leading cause. Pioneering has installed over 100,000 of their original Safe-T-element cooking systems – which require professional installation - in multi-residential housing complexes across North America with not one subsequent cooking fire reported.

The Company will roll out a comprehensive media campaign to help support the launch of SmartBurner. The official media launch of the product will begin week of October 5th in conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week that will be taking place throughout Canada and the United States.
