The Board of Directors of Mid-Southern Savings Bank, FSB ("Mid-Southern" or "Bank") (OTCBB:MSVB) today announced that Mr. David Branaman is retiring from the Board of Directors, and will continue serving the Bank as a Director Emeritus. Mr. Branaman also retired from the Board of Directors of Mid-Southern, MHC. Mr. Branaman has served on the Bank's Board since April, 1979, and has served on various committees during his tenure. Mr. Branaman stated that he recalled his feeling of pride in 1979 on becoming a Board member and attending his first Board meeting at the crowded office on the south side of the Salem square. He further stated that he has enjoyed being part of the Bank's $114 million growth in deposits since 1979 as well as watching the new office being built on Water Street in Salem, and the opening of their first branch, in Orleans. "It has been exciting as well as challenging to be a part of an institution that has had such significant growth as it serves the residents of Washington and Orange Counties, as well as the surrounding areas." Stephen H. Walls, President and CEO of Mid-Southern, stated "We certainly appreciate David's dedication and loyalty to the Bank and recognize his contributions in guiding the Bank into the 21st century. We wish him the best in his retirement but we know, as a Director Emeritus, a customer and a friend, we will see him often." The Board announced the appointment of Trent L. Fisher to fill the vacancy on the Bank's Board created by Mr. Branaman's retirement and that Dr. Fisher had also been appointed to fill the vacancy on the Board of Directors of Mid-Southern, MHC. Dr. Fisher is a native of Salem, having attended the Salem school system and Purdue University, graduating with a Bachelor of Animal Science degree in 1981 and as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1984, and opened Salem Veterinary Service, Inc. in 1989. Dr. Fisher is an Elder at First Christian Church, has held various offices for the 9th District Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, currently serving as Vice-president. He has also served as liaison to Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine and has served on the Board of Directors for the Cooperative Extension Service of Washington County, Indiana. Dr. Fisher and his wife, Katherine, have two children, Sarah 11 and Adam 8, and he is also involved with his children in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, as well as 4-H, soccer and baseball programs. "We are pleased to have Trent join the Boards of the Bank and the Mutual Holding Company and believe that he will bring energy and a new perspective to Mid-Southern. With recent changes in corporate governance policies and increased emphasis being placed on the qualifications of board members, we are very fortunate to find an individual with his background and enthusiasm," stated Mr. Walls. "Mid-Southern's reputation and commitment to personal service contributed greatly to my decision to accept this appointment," stated Dr. Fisher. "The Bank is an integral part of Washington and Orange Counties and provides its customers with products and services that are so often overlooked at other banks that have grown from hometown institutions into regional organizations. The officers, directors and staff of Mid-Southern have proven integrity and experience and I look forward to being a part of that." Mid-Southern, a federally chartered savings bank headquartered in Salem, Indiana, with a branch in nearby Orleans, Indiana, has served the financial needs of the residents of southern Indiana since 1886.
