/PRNewswire/ -- QinetiQ North America (QNA) today
announced the appointment of Richard M.
Burke as director of strategic programs of its Mission and
Information Solutions business unit. In this role, Burke will be
responsible for aligning QNA's advanced capabilities in the areas
of cyber intelligence, agile software development, big data and
mobility solutions with the missions of the company's homeland and
national security customers.
Prior to joining QNA, Burke served for eight
years in a number of senior positions in the Department of Homeland
Security (DHS), most recently as a director (SES) of the Plans
Division within the Office of Operations Coordination and
Planning. In this capacity, Burke led the effort to build
department and interagency operations plans across the homeland
security spectrum of operations, including the DHS Counterterrorism
Plan, 9/11 Anniversary Plan and the development and nationwide
implementation of the National Terrorism Advisory
System. Prior to joining DHS, Burke
served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a judge advocate and logistics
officer, including service in Operation Enduring Freedom,
and in the private sector as a trial
attorney.

Burke holds a Master of Science degree in
national security strategy from the National War College, a Juris
Doctor from Suffolk University Law
School, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from
Colgate
University.
