BMW AG said Thursday that it is increasing production capacity for electric-vehicle components at its manufacturing site in Leipzig, Germany, where it plans to invest more than 800 million euros ($782 million).

The German luxury car maker will have added five cell-coating lines, an additional module line and two high-voltage battery lines to the site by 2024, it said.

BMW had previously outlined part of the planned investment at the Leipzig plant and said Thursday that it will have invested more than EUR800 million between 2020 and the end of 2024.
