BMW to Ramp Up EV Parts Production Capacity in Leipzig

BMW AG said Thursday that it is increasing production capacity
for electric-vehicle components at its manufacturing site in
Leipzig, Germany, where it plans to invest more than 800 million
euros ($782 million).
The German luxury car maker will have added five cell-coating
lines, an additional module line and two high-voltage battery lines
to the site by 2024, it said.
BMW had previously outlined part of the planned investment at
the Leipzig plant and said Thursday that it will have invested more
than EUR800 million between 2020 and the end of 2024.
