Proxim Wireless Corporation (PINKSHEETS: PRXM), a leading provider of high performance indoor and outdoor wireless backhaul systems, announced that three new members, Toru Kashima, Robert M. Pons, and David J. Porte, were elected to its Board of Directors at Proxim's May 17, 2011 annual meeting of stockholders.

"The new members of our Board bring tremendous industry experience, enthusiasm, and talent to our Board of Directors," said Lee Gopadze, President and Chief Executive Officer of Proxim Wireless. "We are pleased to have them on our team and look forward to their ongoing contributions and guidance for Proxim's strategic growth initiatives. At the same time, I would like to thank our outgoing directors John Gerdelman, Robert Wiedemer, and Dr. Rao Papolu for their significant contributions during their years of service."

Toru Kashima has been President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of SRA Inc. and SRA Holdings, Inc. since April 2003. Mr. Kashima's experience in leading SRA Inc., an international IT service and support company, is particularly relevant as Proxim continues its development of WORP, its cross layer resource allocation software platform.

Robert M. Pons is the Chairman of Livewire Mobile, a mobile content platform for wireless carriers. Prior to Livewire Mobile, he was Senior Vice President of Capital Markets for TMNG, a professional services firm catering to the telecommunications and media industries. In addition to Proxim Wireless, Mr. Pons is a Board of Directors member at Network-1.

David J. Porte is Chief Operations Officer of Telecom Global Inc. which owns and operates a global portfolio of telecommunications services and infrastructure companies focused on designing, building and operating wireless and terrestrial networks. The portfolio of companies includes LCC International, Inc., Opticore Networks, Inc. and Wireless Facilities, Inc. (WFI). Mr. Porte is currently President of Opticore and was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at WFI prior to its purchase by Telecom Global.

Also at the May 17, 2011 annual stockholders meeting, Proxim's stockholders approved the two other proposals submitted for their consideration -- reducing Proxim's authorized common stock from 100 million shares to 5 million shares and increasing the shares issuable under Proxim's 2004 Stock Plan by 85,000 shares.
