Innovative Software Solution Enhances Management of Enterprise-Wide
Surveillance Data LOVELAND, Colo., June 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
A4S Security, Inc. (Nasdaq: SWAT, SWATW; NYSE Arca: SWAT, SWATW), a
leading provider of mobile digital video surveillance solutions,
today announced the development of ShiftWatch(R) eXStream(TM), an
innovative software architecture for its ShiftWatch security
solutions that significantly enhances the ability of transit
authorities to manage and access critical data and video files. The
Company expects to deliver its ShiftWatch eXStream architecture in
A4S products starting in the third quarter of this year. This next
generation data capture and management solution is anticipated to
significantly reduce operating costs by streamlining data
management processes that are highly labor intensive and costly.
Serving as a 'security cockpit,' eXStream enables users to manage
video and data from any location. With the development of this
architecture, A4S Security is addressing an ever-growing problem
for transit authorities: being data rich, but information poor.
Video surveillance cameras utilized in transit systems nationwide
are creating large and unmanageable amounts of video and
accompanying data. The current solutions are not only labor
intensive and costly, but also do not provide widespread access to
the information important to meet the customers' needs. With
ShiftWatch eXStream, data is uploaded to a central server and is
easily accessible from any client system. The powerful video
management system enables customers to pick and choose the streams
of video they want to watch, using simple search capabilities by
event, date, time, GPS location and camera view. "This intuitive
solution allows customers to view and control what's going on in
their system in a way that is scalable to the enterprise -- without
taking more people to operate," explained Dave Desormeaux, A4S Vice
President of Engineering. "It's like a 'security cockpit' where you
have access to all the information from any vehicle right at your
fingertips." The wireless-enabled software also allows each mobile
digital video recorder (DVR) to run eight or more cameras
simultaneously while maintaining full motion, high resolution, 30
frames per second (fps) video, creating high quality evidence that
significantly reduces customer's liability risk and operating
costs. The ShiftWatch(R) line of digital video surveillance
products is known for setting the leading standards within the
industry. A4S was the first major market player with constant 30
frames per second (fps) full-motion video on eight channels and the
first to standardize dual media recording to provide customers with
data security and reliability. "Our vision is to provide
leading-edge enterprise data management to meet customers' future
needs -- and eXStream is the underlying technology that is going to
take us there," said Michael Siemens, President. "A4S's superior
solutions for public transit and our developing law enforcement
offerings keep us at the forefront of industry standards. We have
set ourselves apart from the rest with high-quality video,
unparalleled survivability, and interoperability that are unmatched
in the industry." About A4S Security, Inc. A4S Security, Inc.
