                            Issue of Share Options


Following the appointment of Nigel Snook as Managing Director earlier today,
the Board of GOAL plc has granted to Nigel Snook options over 196,078 ordinary
shares of the company, under The GOAL 2000 Unapproved Share Option Scheme, at
an exercise price of 255p per share. These share options are exercisable after
2 years and are subject to performance criteria, agreed by the Remuneration
Committee, which require growth in the company's share price to exceed the
increase in the Retail Price Index plus 5% per annum between the date of issue
and the exercise date.
