(AMEX:EEI) projects recently won awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of New York as part of their Engineering Excellence program. Each year, ACEC sponsors a program to find the best engineering projects in a variety of categories. Two projects, Hudson River PCB Cleanup and Steel Winds Waterfront Wind Farm Studies, were submitted under the Studies, Research and Consulting Engineering Services category. Fourth Street MGP Remediation was submitted under the environmental category. Fort Collins SmartTrips was submitted under the Special Projects -- Energy Conservation category. All four projects were selected for an award: -- Fort Collins (Colorado) SmartTrips Carpooling Program -- Diamond Award (This project was also selected as one of the finalists to represent ACEC NY in the national competition, with judging to take place in May) -- Steel Winds Waterfront Wind Farm (Lackawanna, NY) -- Gold Award -- Fourth Street (Buffalo, NY) Manufactured Gas Plant Remediation Project -- Gold Award -- Hudson River PCB Cleanup Facility Siting -- Platinum Award This is the second year in a row E & E has received the highest (i.e., Diamond) award.
