MDM Engineering Awarded Scoping Study For South Africa Tailings

MDM Engineering Group Ltd (MDM.LN), a project management company
focused on the mining industry, said Monday that it has been
awarded the scoping study for the Gold One International Ltd and
Gold Fields Ltd joint venture project to investigate the economic
viability of reclaiming historical tailings deposits in South
Africa.
MAIN FACTS:
-Sites are within the Carletonville, Westonaria and Randfontein
areas of the Witwatersrand, west of Johannesburg.
-Projects' intent is to extract residual gold, uranium and
sulphur.
-MDM has also recently been appointed by Gold One to undertake
the definitive feasibility study review, value engineering and
re-estimation of the capital cost for the Cooke Uranium
Project.
-It has also been appointed to review and update the previous
prefeasibility study for the reclamation and reprocessing of the
Randfontein tailings deposits and to upgrade the study to a
definitive feasibility study.
-Shares at 0704 GMT, up 2 pence, or 1.9%, at 108 pence valuing
the company at GBP39.49 million.
