                EXPECTATIONS IN CONJUNCTION WITH MERRILL LYNCH

NEW YORK, March 19,2002, Colgate-Palmolive Chairman and CEO Reuben Mark will
present on Wednesday, March 20, at the Merrill Lynch Global Branded Consumer
Products Conference.
