CHANGE OF HONG KONG PAYING AGENT AND LODGING AGENT under the Programme for the
Issuance of Debt Instruments by Westpac Banking Corporation and WestpacTrust
Securities NZ Limited, acting through its London Branch (the "Issuers") and
unconditionally and irrevocably guaranteed, in the case of instruments issued by
WestpacTrust Securities NZ Limited, by Westpac Banking Corporation, as described
in the Base Prospectus dated 24 November 2006, as supplemented from time to time
(the "Programme")

Westpac Banking Corporation and WestpacTrust Securities NZ Limited, acting
through its London Branch, as Issuers, today announced the resignation effective
as of 31 July 2007 of JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., Hong Kong Branch as Hong Kong
paying agent and lodging agent under the Programme. With effect from that date,
The Bank of New York, Hong Kong Branch will be appointed as successor Hong Kong
paying agent and lodging agent under the Programme with its specified office at:
