                   The Baring Emerging Europe Trust PLC 
    Result of Warrantholders' Meeting: Calculation of Warrant Entitlements


As announced on 6 December 2002, the terms of the warrants to subscribe for
ordinary shares in The Baring Emerging Europe Trust PLC (the "Company") were
amended, pursuant to an extraordinary resolution passed at a meeting of warrant
holders held on 5th December 2002, to allow warrant holders to participate in
the scheme of reconstruction of the Company (the "Scheme").

As required by the Scheme, the Board of the Company announces that, under the
amended Warrant terms, no adjustment is required to be made to the exercise
price of the warrants of US$1.00 per warrant, and that the value of the
entitlements due to Non-Subscribing and Cash Electing Warrantholders (as defined
in the Scheme) has been calculated at US$2.067 per warrant.
