              OFFER TO PURCHASE ALL SHARES IN FOKUS BANK ASA 
          THE TIME OF ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE FINAL DEGREE OF ACCEPTANCE

The offer to purchase all shares in Fokus Bank ASA was given a positive
reception by the shareholders of Fokus Bank ASA with which Den Danske Bank has
had direct contact.  Hence, Den Danske Bank expects a high degree of acceptance
of the offer.

According to the offer document, the deadline for accepting Den Danske Bank's
offer was 4.00pm on Friday, 4th December 1998.  Shares in Fokus Bank ASA were
heavily traded right until the last day of the offer period.  In this
connection, Den Danske Bank noted that major institutional investors that bought
shares up to and including Friday, 4th December, wanted to extend their
acceptance to include all the shares purchased by them.

Shares purchased on Friday, 4th December will not be registered on the
purchaser's account until Wednesday 9th December.  As a result of the
registration routines in the Norwegian securities market, Den Danske Bank will
not receive a precise statement of the number of shares covered by acceptances
until Thursday 10th December.  For that reason, Den Danske Bank has decided to
prolong the acceptance period until 4.00pm on Thursday 10th December.

Den Danske Bank intends to announce the degree of acceptance of the offer to the
shareholders of Fokus Bank ASA on Thursday 10th December.
