Interest Rate Swap Agreement


The Directors announce that Aberforth Geared Capital & Income Trust plc has
entered into an interest rate swap agreement today, which has the effect of
fixing the interest rate on #30 million of debt from 2 April 2002 to 30
September 2011 at 6.63%.

The interest rate stated includes a margin of 1.1% and mandatory costs.
