£600 MILLION HOTEL PORTFOLIO DISPOSAL BY THISTLE HOTELS PLC - FINANCIAL
IMPLICATIONS



Singapore, 12 March 2002 - Further to the announcement released earlier today,
the Board of Directors of BIL International Limited ("BIL") wishes to clarify
that the disposal of 37 hotels by its associate, Thistle Hotels Plc is not
expected to have a material impact on BIL's net asset value.



However, the transaction may have a material impact on our earnings per share
when we record our equity accounted portion of Thistle's results.  We will
announce our estimate of this impact on our earnings per share in our Interim
Results for the six months ending 31 December 2001, which will be announced on
19 March 2002.
