In accordance with the provision of Listing Rule 15.5.1R (Compliance with the Model Code), Alternative Investment Strategies Limited (the "Company") hereby confirms that it has now entered into a close period which will end following the release of its annual financial report (the "Annual Report") for the year ended 31 October 2013, anticipated to be on or around 17 December 2013.

In accordance with Listing Rule 15.5.1(4), the Company confirms that all inside information (including weekly estimates of the Company's net asset value) have been and will continue to be notified to a regulated information service ("RIS") and that the Directors and the Company are not in possession of any additional inside information that has not been notified to an RIS.

Accordingly, pursuant to Listing Rule 15.5.1(3), the Company is exempt during the close period from the provisions of the Model Code in respect of the following (each, a "Transaction"):

   -      dealings by persons discharging managerial responsibilities in the Company; 
   -      purchases by the Company of its own securities; and 

- sales of treasury shares for cash or transfers (except for sales and transfers by the Company of treasury shares in the circumstances set out in LR 12.6.2R).

If, in the period leading up to the announcement of the Annual Report, the Directors or the Company come into possession of any inside information, such information will be notified to an RIS before any Transaction is undertaken.
