    TOTAL VOTING RIGHTS


    In conformity with Regulation 20 of the Transparency (Directive 2004/109/EC) Regulations 2007, Anglo announces that:

    As at 31st December 2008, Anglo's issued share capital consists of 769,150,409 ordinary shares of nominal value EUR0.16 each with voting
rights. In addition, Anglo holds 19,565,004 ordinary shares as treasury shares with no voting rights. The total number of voting rights is
therefore 749,585,405.

    The above figure 749,585,405 may be used by shareholders as a denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are
required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Anglo under the Transparency (Directive 2004/109/EC) Regulations
2007.
