Financial Reporting Timetable

Following the merger between British Steel plc and Koninklijke Hoogovens NV to
create Corus Group plc ("Corus"), which becomes effective on 6 October 1999,
Corus envisages announcing its results according to the following reporting
timetable: 

January 2000       announcement of (i) British Steel plc audited results for  
                   the 6 months to 30 September 1999 and (ii) Koninklijke     
                   Hoogovens NV audited results for the 9 months to 30        
                   September 1999, and Corus trading update

July 2000          announcement of Corus unaudited interim results for the 6  
                   months to 31 March 2000

August 2000        announcement of Corus unaudited interim results for        
                   the 9 months to 30 June 2000

March 2001         announcement of Corus audited results for the 15 months to 
                   31 December 2000

There is a Stock Exchange requirement to publish unaudited interim results for
the 6 months to March 2000 prior to the normal interim results for Corus to
June 2000.

From 1 January 2001, Corus intends to adopt a normal 6 monthly reporting
timetable.  

Corus will trade under the following stock codes from Wednesday, 6 October
1999:

London Stock Exchange                 CS.
Amsterdam Stock Exchange              CORS
New York Stock Exchange               CGA
