Miller  1999 plc ("Miller") notes the statement by the Panel on Takeovers  and
Mergers  regarding  its  decision in relation to a  proposed  200p  per  share
matching offer for CALA plc ("CALA") from Dotterel Limited ("Dotterel").

Miller  reminds  CALA shareholders that its offer of 200p  per  CALA  ordinary
share  is  the  only offer of 200p that has been announced.   Miller  will  be
posting its offer document shortly.

In  the event that Dotterel announces a matching 200p offer, Miller will  make
its views known to shareholders without delay.
