Debenhams plc announces that Guido Padovano has resigned as a non-executive
director with effect from 17th April 2007. This will allow him to give more time
to his other business interests as a Managing Director of the Merrill Lynch
Global Private Equity Division.

John Lovering the Chairman of Debenhams plc, said:
